In 11 words: Less government, more responsibility, and with God’s help – a better world. That’s their mission and most concisely sums up what the John Birch Society has been about since its creation by Robert Welch in 1958.

THE GOAL

The goal of the JBS is to educate people about the nature of power politics in the United States and, in fact, around the world. To do this, a team must be built that will work hard at “pulling the oars,” creating an informed electorate, producing a Congress committed to honoring their oath to uphold the Constitution.

It’s Not A Party Thing — It’s A Constitution Thing

The John Birch Society is an activist/educational organization whose members employ truth as their only weapon. We believe that when a sufficient number of citizens are made aware of what is happening throughout the world, and who is making it happen, our nation will adopt a better course – both at the ballot box and in reversing the steady plunge toward socialism and total government.

While bringing solid information to fellow Americans is paramount, we also understand the need to be involved simultaneously in stopping dangerous initiatives that are undermining our way of life and ignoring a variety of constitutional restraints. In fact, it is the action programs of The John Birch Society that serve as a springboard for our educational efforts. More often than not, what the insiders of the Master Conspiracy have in mind can be prevented by focusing on the principle involved, the danger of not adhering to it, and a careful but accurate exposure of the people who are promoting programs leading to a socialist tyranny.

Those who promote a destructive agenda don’t like exposure; they run from it. At the same time, they create great noises claiming there is no organization behind what they are doing – that everything occurring is merely the haphazard result of trying to do their best. They use every means at their disposal to convince others that they have no real agenda and, at the same time, smear anyone who exposes what they are doing and who they are.

The agenda of the John Birch Society reflects the principles of our country’s Founders, the philosophical foundation in the Declaration of Independence, the practical and highly praised governmental system in the U.S. Constitution, and a belief in god who endows each person with rights. We draw a circle of Faith into which people may step and participate with other concerned citizens without violating their own religious beliefs. We welcome people of all walks of life and whatever race and ethnic background. In other words, we are Americans.

We do not operate in secrecy. All of our positions, beliefs, and practices are an open book. All one has to do is go online at JBS.org to see what we stand for and how we operate.

We are a monolithic organization because Founder Robert Welch knew that other groups had been destroyed by infiltrators and provocateurs who created feuding factions. The Conspiracy we seek to expose and rout would love nothing better than to see us battling each other. Its leaders would happily send their agents into our ranks to create splits and to have our members engaged in endless debates. Being monolithic avoids such destructiveness. While we continue to operate with our original structure, members are free to work on the recommended agenda items they agree with and to skip those which they might be in disagreement.

Our Agenda will always address the issues and programs we believe to be the most important if we are to preserve the American system. Some will be supported and others will be opposed. There will always be problems to solve and initiatives to support.

WHO WAS JOHN BIRCH?

John Birch was a Baptist missionary in a remote province of China, when through a series of extraordinary coincidences, he helped Colonel James Doolittle and several of his downed flyers to safety. He was subsequently inducted into the US Army as an intelligence officer under Gen. Chennault, and served for slightly over three years of our war with Japan. His remarkable feats of personal courage and leadership helped immeasurably to bring about a victory in China. Ten days following the end of the war, while on a peaceful mission with the Army, he was brutally killed by the Chinese Communists.

In 1958 Robert Welch explained at the founding meeting of The John Birch Society why he had chosen John as the namesake for the organization. He said,”…the young man I admire most of all those America has produced was a fundamentalist Baptist Missionary named John Birch. My own obsession with this fight against the increasing forces of evil in the world, which …has caused me to give up a business career and income and any prospect of ever having any peace or leisure again during my lifetime, is due in large part to my admiration for John Birch; to my feeling that I simply had to pick up and carry, to the utmost of my ability and energy, the torch of a humane righteousness which he was carrying so well and so faithfully when the Communists struck him down.”

ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF THE JOHN BIRCH SOCIETY

The Committee Against Summit Entanglements—Through this ad hoc committee in our early days, Eisenhower cancelled his scheduled trip to Russia as a result of our work.

Support Your Local Police—This effort prevented the nationalization of local police departments and various other forms of federal government regulation of our local police. It led to the federal agency known as the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration (LEAA) being abolished and the defeat of communist-inspired police review boards.

“Innocents Defiled”—The JBS produced one of the first, if not the first, visual aids targeting the crime of abortion. The filmstrip was widely shown and aided in the launching of the Pro-Life movement.

MOTOREDE—Our Movement to Restore Decency, MOTOREDE, was launched to stem the decline of moral standards in our country and to expose the involvement of communists promoting the turn away from traditional values.

Black American Speakers—Several courageous black American JBS members helped bring an end to the violence and strife of the 1960’s and 1970’s. Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson continues that tradition, with his “Stop Obama’s Socialist Change” Speaking Tour.

Racially–inspired Programs Exposed—The Society thwarted communist plans to radicalize selected groups such as the American Indian Movement and the Chicano Movements led by Cesar Chavez and Reies Tijerina.

Stop Aiding Communists—During the Viet Nam War, members gathered millions of signatures on a petition to Congress calling for an end to all aid and trade with communist nations who were supplying the North Vietnamese and Viet Cong.

Equal Rights Amendment Killed—The truly dangerous Equal Rights Amendment was stopped cold after we pointed out to State Legislators that it had nothing to do with Equal Rights for women and plenty to do with building federal power over every American.

Constitutional Convention Blocked—Continual calls for a Con-Con were met with reprints, videos, speakers and personal visits to state legislators. Not only were calls blocked in some states, already passed calls for a Con-Con were wiped away in over a dozen other states when the dangers inherent in a Con-Con were made clear.

Tax Reform Immediately (TRIM)—For 30 years many elected officials found themselves run out of office as a result of their voting records being distributed via millions of these “report cards.” Today they can be accessed online through the “Legislative Action” section of our website at JBS.org.

Targeting Small States and Areas—Experiments in Idaho and other areas have shown that, with sufficient staff coverage to build a sizable JBS organization, change in the voting patterns of the citizens can be achieved leading to more constitutionally–minded people being elected.

Immigration Problem—Our 1988 video entitled “Out of Control” was the first to awaken citizens to the enormous problem before most Americans knew that there was even a problem.

Combating Terrorism—With JBS member and US Congressman Lawrence McDonald (D-GA) leading the way, such videos as “No Place to Hide” were produced and the first to show the communist creation and nurturing of all terrorist groups around the world. The effort showed that no terrorist organization operates without state sponsorship.

Muslim Terrorism Exposed—Our most recent exposure shows that so-called Muslim terrorism is not only state sponsored but that the Russian government and its FSB has trained and armed Muslim surrogates.

Exposing Conspiracy—JBS has always exposed the fact that a conspiracy to enslave mankind is at the root of most of our nation’s and the world’s problems. The campaign has been so successful, that in order to sabotage the effort, we are witnessing absurd “conspiracy theories” being injected into the thinking of Americans to discredit the idea of conspiracy itself.

The Y2K Scare—Through a timely article in The New American magazine, JBS members calmed fears about a Y2K computerized meltdown on New Year’s Day 2000. We’ve had many successes in dispelling false rumors designed to discredit the conservative movement.

The UN’s Earth Charter—Singlehandedly, JBS members stopped plans to inject the pagan Earth Charter into communities and schools. Radical one-worlders actually had a program underway to make environmentalism a religion that worshipped Mother Earth.

Get Us Out! of The United Nations—Our decades old efforts has convinced a majority of Americans to be opposed to continued membership.

Impeachment of President Clinton—Americans wanted Clinton impeached, but it wasn’t until JBS gave the initiative real organization that the goal became a reality. Hillary talked about “the vast right wing conspiracy” but did not want to name us because she didn’t want to give us credit.

Free Trade Area of the Americas—Singlehandedly, our Society stopped this implementation. Because of our efforts President Bush never even delivered his subversive plan to Congress. The program continues today under a different name in Latin America under communist leadership.

North American Union—JBS helped form a coalition to oppose the North American Union (NAU) and the Security and Prosperity Partner-ship that was created to bring the NAU about by 2010 abolishing the borders separating us from Canada and Mexico and integrating, banking, environmental, trade and healthcare regulations, building a common “defense” and spurring immigration into the US and much more.

Education and Communication—Although not measurable, but considerably stronger all the time, our growth in informing citizens stressing the importance of the Constitution, not conservatism, with facts they can count on covering politics, conspiracies, current events and true American values has been very effective through our very resourceful website, magazine (The New American), newsletter (The JBS Bulletin), 100’s of thousands of DVD’s circulated, our speakers and local meetings.

Jasper’s speech on May 19th in Spokane, WA was produced by the local John Birch Society speakers’ bureau to a very interested audience of patriots. Jasper dispelled the White House’s line that this is only about sanctuary for a downtrodden threatened people. Also, the video’s narrative covers associated issues relating to the hidden agenda lurking behind this serious matter.

America: ‘In a nutshell:’

1. Pure Freedom is Pure Capitalism with a limited government and the moral code found in the 10 Commandants.
2. Capitalism is the freedom to succeed in starting your own business or making an investment.
3. But the price of that Freedom must be that there can’t be any guarantees, subsidies or forgiveness/bailouts.
4. Business failure is not fatal, it is a lesson learned and one moves on, strengthened from the experience.
5. The purpose of business is to make a profit. Accountability must reign.
6. Business taxes and regulations are line item costs and passed on causing price increases and inflation.
7. Immigration laws must be enforced with legal immigrants assimilating and learning to speak English.
8. Redistribution of wealth is counterproductive, condoning and encouraging complacency.
9. People should not be paid for doing nothing. Workfare makes sense, welfare does not.
10. Large minimum wages are budget breakers restricting hiring and affecting competiveness and price increases.
11. Government cannot take care of everything. Can you say: Socialism, Marxism & Communism?
12. But now we have plunged into Obamaville and we’re truly under-going fundamental change.

They say 13 is an unlucky number. Do you think?

In Obamaville: Our lifeblood Productive Engine is going away. Freedom is dissolving due to insane liberalism.

And lastly: Drilling HERE and NOW, building pipe lines, building safe Nuclear Plants, harvesting clean coal, and requiring alternate energy technology to earn accountability and become free-standing without tax payer subsidation is imperative!(Speaking about prairie chickens around oil wells and pipelines: Have you ever heard of the thousands of birds killed by windmills?)

Another timely quote again from William Simon in his 1979 book, ‘A Time for Truth’:

“Too many Americans have assumed immense intelligence in the liberal world and concluded that when liberals destroyed U.S. production, they knew what they were doing — i.e. that they were guilty of a conspiracy. They are not conspirators, they are intellectual basket cases in the realm of basic economics.”

Actually, on this one, my beloved patriot William Simon is partially wrong. He was right that those minions down the chain of command were probably ‘intellectual basket cases in the realm of basic economics,’ but their leaders were most certainly what we hear referred to these days as the establishment and they definitely have globalists’ plans for us.

America is way down in spirits right now. Our majority citizenry, businesses and groups need to smell the coffee, do what we must to vocally and legally tell these, small minority, extreme crazies on the far left in the courts, universities, media and politics that have been crippling our system to shut up and sit down. Let’s get back up, dust ourselves off and be what we can be, real self-reliant patriotic Americans and get in their faces with truth and righteousness. Let’s get back to what brought us, stated so well in our wonderful Declaration of Independence and our U.S. Constitution. A nation of winners wrought of the Freedom that drives us. Hey, Obama, no wealth re-distribution, here. Go to one of your imaginary extra 7 states you said we have and wear yourself out. This is America!!!
